if the filtering was protocal based L-7 filter would have done the
job. Its still possible to filter out Mr. maxonline in proxy server
using some 'adult content filtering software' based on keywords etc.
But that would be lot of effort as the list needs to be updated very
frequently now and then,

but here is how someone could break this;
-its possible to enforce HTTPS throughout the session for
yahoo/hotmail etc *failure*

-or someone could first HOP through a (public/private) proxy server
that is run on a NON-STANDARD http port effectively bypassing content
filtering software working with SQUID  *failure*

if a easy/practical for this scenerio was possible most of SPAM
problem would have been solved.

Making things tougher for him only TECHNICALLY is difficult.
